~Here is a little story about Darkstar getting his 9 lives~
Darkriver padded into the MoonClaw's cave, feeling his way with his front paws in the darkness. He felt the water the surrounded the MoonClaw and started to swim. He bumped into the base of the stone and climbed up onto it. Suddenly there was a bright flash of light and the MoonClaw lit up, blinding Darkriver. He closed his eyes and touched his nose to the middle claw and instantly fell asleep.
Opening his eyes, he found himself standing on a flat island, surrounded by a deep but calm river. He looked up to the radiant Silverpelt and they started to move. Swirling down towards the ground, Darkriver watched in awe. As each star touched the ground they broke apart into small stars, making frames of cats. They started to take color, and make the ranks of StarClan. He searched the sea of faces, recognizing some faces, but most were stranger. He saw one cat step out, Racoonfur, an elder that recently died in DuskClan. He looked younger, like he died as a warrior, not a frail cat. "With this life I give you wisdom." he meowed, the rasp in his voice gone "Use it to make the right decisions for the future of your clan." He rested his head on Darkriver's forehead and all of his memories flashed before him. Racoonfur driving out cats that poised danger and letting in cats in which he thought would become great warriors, which they did. As he stepped backwards another cat stepped out from the ranks, Splatterfur. "With this life I give you protection. Use it to save helpless cats, from your Clan or anywhere else." she meowed as she rested her head on his head. Darkriver felt a lurch of hot anger and then it cooled into calm anger. Feeling that he would die to save the helpless, just as Splatterfur did. Another cat stepped out, Owlscreech, his eyes clear and seeing "With this life I give you trust. Even if you do not like one of your Clanmates, you must trust that they are loyal." he meowed and briefly touched his forehead. Darkriver felt a strange kind of peace within him, like he wasn't alone, and he closed his eyes to savor it. He saw memories from Owlscreech, watching Darkriver help the Clan. Even though Owlscreech didn't like him, he trusted Darkriver. When Darkriver opened his eyes another cat was in front of him, Thornnight. "With this life I give you humor. Use it to lighten up your Clan's mood in dark times." he purred as he slapped Darkriver gently with his tail. With that slap Darkriver listened to all the joke Thornnight has every told, a lot including epic apples. Darkriver purred as Thornnight padded away and the first stranger padded up. The name Thunderfoot popped into his head, and he meowed, "I am Thunderfoot, a warrior from LeafClan who died at the paws of one of your prisoners. With this life I give your courage. Never back down from protecting your Clan, use this life to lead you forwards." he meowed and brushed his muzzle against Darkriver's ear. A surge of fear flashed through him, replaced by steely determination. Even if he was afraid, his Clan needed him to fight for them.
The life left Darkriver trembling and as the next cat padded up he steadied his breath, getting ready for this life. "I am Flowerstorm." said the dark furred she-cat with white markings looking like swirling clouds. "I am your mother, and I died giving birth to you." she meowed. "With this life I give you loyalty. Though I know you have plenty of this, you will much to stay strong to your Clan." she meowed and she nuzzled him lovingly. Darkriver knew what this life would feel like so he prepared for it. The familiar passion filled him, making him keep going after he was tired. He saw a handsome tom and his mother, pushing him away. His mother could have been with her true love, but she chose to stay loyal. As the short memory ended his mother padded away and another unfamiliar cat took her place, a sturdy black tom. "I am Rushingwater, your father." he mewed, his voice just like Darkriver's. "With this life I give you patience for the apprentices in your clan, they tend to cause most of the problems." he meowed. He touched noses with Darkriver, and before him, there were all the apprentices his father ever had. Unloyal, lazy, and confused at first, but they all ended up as great warriors. After it was done his father looked in Darkriver's eyes "Me and your mother always loved you and were always proud of you, I wanted you to know that," he meowed and padded away.
Next Springstar padded out, looking younger than Darkriver has ever seen her. "With this life I give you hope. Even in the darkest of times you can always fond hope. Use it and spread it across the Clan, keeping them strong." she mewed and then she rested her head on his head, just like his warrior ceremony. He felt light as a feather, like that even in the worst situation everything would be okay. She padded away and Darkriver searched for the cat who was going to give him his last life. A cat pushed her way from the crowd and bounded happily to Darkriver. "Spottedpool!" he purred. He missed his lost sister dearly and wondered if they would let her into StarClan even though she killed herself. "With this life I give you love for your family or any other cat." she meowed and touched noses with him. Images of him and Spiritsong together flashed before him, then him with Spottedpool, then with his kits, and finally with another cat, but she was blurred so he could not make her out. He would have another mate, but it was for Darkriver to choose. As she stepped away Darkriver suddenly felt heavy and filled with his lives. "Congratulations, Darkriver. You have successively been given nine lives. You for now on be called Darkstar. StarClan will always be by your side. Dead Duskclan well," the voices of the starry cats said in unison. He blinked his eyes as he opened them and he was back in the MoonClaw cave, the stone dark once more.
